About Me

Longer ago than I like to think about, my parents - to all appearances sane and rational people - decided to have children. I was the first, arriving in the spring of 1958 in a small city in Vermont. After having them all to myself for almost 3 years, my siblings followed: two sisters and a brother. Our first house was located in an area that was largely commercial and, for lack of a proper neighborhood, we were each other's playmates. Eventually, my parents moved us all and we discovered the true joys of neighborhood life. Kickball in the empty parking lot of the neighborhood store and building snowforts in the back yard became fond activities - in their proper seasons, of course. My childhood was filled with loving parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins - all of whom shaped my life in many ways.

We all attended Catholic grammar school; we'll just leave that where it is for the moment as I'm sure the topic will come up in future blog entries. I broke from the fold and attended the local public high school when the time came to make that choice. It was in that environment that I first discovered my love of writing - and received encouragement for it.

Fast forward to the end of school and the commencement of my business career. After several years in Vermont, I took myself off to Maine and am enjoying a very interesting career in financial services (really - it IS interesting!), working for an exciting and very successful company.

I've recently decided to explore that love of writing I discovered many years ago. As "Phoebe2",  I've joined a couple of fiction sites and have posted several stories in a couple of different fanfiction realms. I've received very positive feedback and made one terrific friend in the process, but I think it's time to think about writing my own stories now. While I'll probably always dabble in the fanfiction world, I think this blog may easily become the transition to that goal. We'll see.

Stay tuned.
